WHAT IF ART WAS ACCESSIBLE?
We’re doing our best to make it so.
Selkirk Mountain Writing Retreat is a program of the Sandpoint Alliance for Equality. That means our vision, mission, and purpose align: We see art and creativity, the uplifting of marginalized voices, and leadership that embodies representation, as essential to a whole and thriving society.
By accessible, we mean available to be created by anyone, and available for anyone to bear witness to.
We’ve built a scholarship program to support writers and creatives who feel they would benefit from participating in this retreat, and that the world would benefit from their ability to express themselves artistically.
If the cost of the retreat is prohibitive to your participation, please apply to our scholarship by completing the form here. While we do not currently offer full scholarships, we hope to be able to support financial accessibility in the small ways available to us, and to continue to grow the scholarship program.
Submission deadline is May 31st, 2026 by midnight, PST. All submissions will be reviewed and scholarships recipients informed by June 15th. Acceptance and registration must be complete by July 1st.
